Just before Christmas, I went on a press trip to my former home town of Newcastle to pretend to be a Premiership footballer for the day.
The result was this article for FHM.com.
I often like to wonder what it be like to go into the past and tell your childhood self something about the future; whether they’d believe you, what they’d make of it.
This can apply to anything from living in London, sharing a flat with an actual, living, breathing girl and, it seems, playing football with the blokes in the posters stuck to your bedroom wall.
Suffice to say, my 13-year-old self would have loved to hear that he’d one day play football with Rob Lee and John Beresford.
Even if they did spend most of the session taking the piss out of my ‘shovel feet’.
